GET’s High Speed Data Switch (HSDS) Converters are direct replacements for the current NOSC USQ‑62(V) converters. The HSDS Serial Data Switching System operates as an electronic patch panel that provides an interconnection mechanism for hundreds of NTDS parallel interface devices. The computer controlled electronic switches combine connection speed, convenience, and modularity to form highly reliable and easy to use interconnection systems. To reduce system size and complexity, the switching matrix is designed for use with synchronous serial formatted data. The synchronizing data clock is provided by the switch matrix and delivered to the individual converters by the clock distribution component of the Converter System Chassis. The converters perform the parallel to serial as well as serial to parallel data conversion. This provides a full duplex interface between NTDS Computer and Peripheral equipment channels through the switching matrix.
