GET Engineering unveils new NTDS to Gigabit
Ethernet data conversion technology. EL CAJON, CALIFORNIA – March 2, 2009 - Congressman Duncan D. Hunter (R,
52d District), House Armed Services Committee, received a briefing and
technology demonstration of GET Engineering Corporation's new NTDS to Gigabit
Ethernet Converter products. He expressed keen interest in this new capability
as this technology bridges US Navy legacy tactical data systems to new 'open
architecture' systems of the future.
This product provides a legacy link between
older technology systems that are currently used throughout the U.S.
Navy's applications and the new net-centric global infrastructure being
implemented across the Department of Defense. The use of the NTDS to Gigabit
Ethernet converter not only extends the lifecycle of the legacy systems, it also
greatly simplifies integration and offers the replacement of bulky, heavy and
costly NTDS cabling. The result is both a space and weight reduction with
enhanced tactical capabilities. It can also result in multi-million dollar cost
savings by eliminating the need to replace the legacy systems.
Congressman
Hunter was also briefed on GET Engineering’s NTDS to fiber optic products and
the physical layer storage area network switching systems that have been
recently deployed in several East and West coast Naval Test Facilities.
